Curtis named AIChE Outstanding Student Advisor
Wayne Curtis, professor of chemical engineering, has been awarded the American Institute of Chemical Engineer’s (AIChE) 2015 Outstanding Student Advisor Award.
The award recognizes outstanding service and leadership in guiding the activities of an AIChE student chapter in accordance with AIChE principles.
Curtis is the second Penn State faculty member to receive the award since its inception in 1988. In 1989, the award was given to the late Friedrich G. Helfferich.
A long-time champion for student success, Curtis was also named the Penn State Engineering Alumni Society’s Lawrence J. Perez Memorial Student Advocate Award recipient in April, 2015.
He will be formally recognized at the AIChE Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, November 8 to 13.
