Computational Materials Education and Training (CoMET)
Dr. Fichthorn serves as the principal investigator for Penn State’s Computational Materials Education and Training (CoMET) program. The CoMET program aims to educate students in the development and implementation of Density Functional Theory (DFT) as a means to solve complex problems in materials science and new material discovery. The project is sponsored by a 5-year $3 million grant from the National Science Foundation, and embodies students from a variety of STEM disciplines.
